31 Days (and counting)
In 31 days I will turn 30. I used to think 30 sounded so old, and I guess maybe I still do since I often refer to it as “twenty-ten” (it sounds less daunting that way, LOL!) This is not exactly the plan I had for my life or the place I thought I would be in at 30, but it is and that’s okay. With that said, I don’t ever want to have regrets which is why I need some input. For those of you who are already 30, what’s the one thing (big or small) you wish you would have done in your 20’s that you didn’t get accomplished? For those who aren’t yet 30, what’s the one big thing you want to do before you get there?

Well, in 35 days I will be 30+7 :-) The one thing I always wanted to do in my 20's that I did not do was a really fun "girls getaway" with my friends. We'd done a couple of mini weekend trips, but I wanted to do something big like Vegas. Never happened and I regret not trying to organize the trip.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you might be planning something...
I like where I am now so I don't think I can call it regret, but something I always wanted to do when I was younger was college. I quit after my first semester and got married. I always enjoyed school and believe I would have continued to ..... though I admit that semester proved to be a lot tougher than high school!! I think that's part of why I enjoy the computer stuff so much...I'm still learning and being challenged! Just for reference, I'm well past 20-10, 30-10 , even 40-10. I think that degree of perspective makes me feel that every thing I did or didn't do is what made me who I am. Therefore, no regrets.....just thoughts. Blm Mom#2
ReplyDeleteWhen I turned 30, it was hard for me. I really wanted to be married and have a family, but God hadn't provided those opportunities for me. . .yet. I was involved with Bible Study Fellowship at that time, and something in the study made me realize. . .Jesus was just STARTING his ministry at age 30 - look at all He accomplished in just 3 short years, so that helped keep things in perspective for me. I also had a friend tell me "if you truly believe in God's plan for your life, you are exactly the age you are supposed to be". It was still hard at times, but those things kept me focused on the big picture and not on a #. I don't have any regrets about not accomplishing something in my 20's, but now that I'm nearing 30-10, my body can't do the same things as I did "back then". So. . .my advice would be that if you ever wanted to do something physically demanding - rock climbing, sky diving, white water rafting, etc. - do it now! I can't wait to hear what other people have to say. ..

I always wanted to have a girls trip before I got married and had kids. My sis and cousins all married early and they couldn't get away, so I never went. I was always waiting on them. Now they are getting divorces and I just got married. Not that I regret where I am by any means, I just wish I had been stronger when I was younger and just went by myself to Mexico, or with one good friend. Another place I would love to see is Italy. I guess do what makes you happy no matter how old you are. We only live once, that is a really short amount of time to squeeze it all in.
